On one hand we have high fashion, where extremely tall and skinny women with unique facial features are perceptioned as the etalon of beauty. On the other hand we have the bodybuilding community, growing day by day on social media, where women with round legs, big glutes, developed backs and shoulders and ripped abs are considered to be the highest end of sexiness.
Never tell a woman how she should look like, or what her physique goals should be!
Well, hard to believe, but not every
woman wants to look like this: Or this:
Here are some types of phisiques that most women tend to see as ‘body goals’:
Believe me, these women did not obtained their physiques with a cardio only and juice cleanser program.
The worst situation is when a woman is affraid of lifting weights, ditch them all together and stick to cardio machines, spinning classes or zumba. ( I have absolutely no problem with zumba, it’s just that while it is a lot of fun and a good way to burn additional calories, it is not oriented in physique development).
Another anecdotal situation is when a woman perform exercises with endless repetitions, no more than 3 kg dumbbells month after month, year after year. With little to no results. Ehem…
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. –Albert Einstein
So why is that? Unfortunately, I’ve seen too many times gym instructors pushing on women workout programs tailored towards men goals. From a physiological stand point it makes sense: we have the same mucles as men do. But we don’t necessarily want to build the same proportions. We want to look as feminine as possible. And we can. By lifting heavy weights, like a man, in the right way, like a woman 😎 .
So overcome your fear of getting strong, let go of all dietary dogma’s and remember:
